The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective internal controls. This role will involve financial analysis, audit coordination, budgeting, and financial reporting, as well as mentoring junior staff members. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Finance Director and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements. Provide in-depth financial analysis and insights to senior management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the budgeting process and assist in forecasting future financial performance. Provide financial guidance and analysis to support strategic business decisions.
- Compliance & Regulation: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations (e.g., VAT) and accounting standards. Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory filings and ensure the company adheres to financial laws and industry regulations.
- Audit Management: Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process and manage internal audits. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Reconciliation of Purchases and Redemptions: Oversee the reconciliation of purchase and redemption transactions, ensuring revenue and costs are accurately reported and aligned with platform data.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded, including reviewing journal entries and ensuring proper allocation of costs and revenues.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight: Supervise and review accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of payments and collections.
- Financial Data Integrity: Monitor and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, working closely with the finance team to resolve discrepancies.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead, mentor, and develop junior accountants and finance staff. Provide guidance and training to help them grow professionally.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Manage ad-hoc financial projects as required, including system upgrades, financial analysis, and process improvements.
Requirements:
- Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACA, or equivalent qualification preferred).
- Experience: At least 7-8 years of experience in accounting or finance. Experience within the e-commerce industry is highly preferred.
